Manage resource visibility, areas and deletion

Where: Admin → Downloads → Resource management

Before you start

A listing must remain in at least Downloads; removing it from Marketplace does not delete it. The discovery-area flags are separate from category and review status.

Step by step

  1. Filter by search, review status, availability, discovery area and category; use Reported only when investigating reports.
  2. Open the listing and confirm its author, title, version, files and publication state.
  3. Change its category or internal note with the corresponding Save control.
  4. Set Downloads/Marketplace discovery areas, or use bulk controls to add selected listings to either/both.
  5. Use Hide/unpublish for reversible visibility, Remove for soft deletion, and reserve Delete for good for intentional permanent removal.

Settings and behaviour

A listing must remain in at least Downloads; removing it from Marketplace does not delete it. The discovery-area flags are separate from category and review status.

Action Result
Hide / unpublish Removes public visibility, preserves files/versions/reviews; reversible.
Remove (soft delete) Marks removed, preserves the listing’s records/files/sales for restore.
Delete for good Administrator-only permanent destruction; refused for a sold product.

An unapproved/hidden listing should be readable only by its author/staff, including its file endpoint. A linked discussion topic is not proof the resource itself is publicly listed. Resolve reports after checking the actual listing, with a staff note where appropriate.

Check the result

Inspect Downloads, Marketplace, detail and file access as author, staff and guest. Confirm a sold premium file remains closed to non-buyers.

Common questions and troubleshooting

Topic exists but listing absent: check area flags, approval, hidden/removed state and filters. Bulk action did nothing: verify the intended rows were selected. Permanent deletion refused: prior sales intentionally protect buyers.
