Pin, lock, feature, move or delete a topic

Where: Topic heading → Moderate

Before you start

Topic-state changes are independent: a pinned thread can also be locked. Moving a thread changes the category access rules that govern its audience. Confirm the destination before moving private content into a public area.

Steps

1. Open the correct topic as staff and expand Moderate.
2. Choose Pin this topic to promote it in the relevant ordering; use Unpin to reverse.
3. Choose Lock this topic to stop normal replying; Unlock reverses it.
4. Choose Feature/Unfeature for the feature flag.
5. To move, choose the destination under Move to and press Move topic.
6. Use Delete topic only after reading the confirmation: it deletes the whole topic and replies.

Verify

Check status badges and destination as staff/member. Verify normal replies are refused while locked and work again after unlocking.

Troubleshooting

Missing controls indicate your account lacks staff access. If a moved thread seems gone, check destination permissions. Use lock/hide when appropriate instead of destructive deletion.
