Check collection health, cleanup and backup

Where: Admin → System → Xstatics Dashboard → Tools → Data & settings

Steps

1. Read collection/admin-inclusion switches, consent-helper availability and readable row counts.
2. Check the last retained view and cleanup telemetry without treating age alone as proof of health.
3. Make a real eligible public visit rather than inserting synthetic traffic.
4. Run the normal addon scheduler or manual cleanup for the selected 7–365-day retention.
5. Back up all addon tables/state with the board database before upgrades. Disable collection to stop new observations while retaining reports.

Check the result

Cleanup deletes expired events/snapshots and records telemetry transactionally. Goals, presets and signing secret remain.

If it does not work

Schema damage can stop the dashboard before the health panel renders. A last-seen view does not prove continuous tracking; mail/scheduler availability and tracking availability are separate concerns.
