Keep readers read-only while testers post

Where: Add-ons → Beta Access Pro → administrator management → Review category permissions

Steps

1. Record the existing adopted category and tester group shown by the addon.
2. In the core access matrix grant the ordinary Registered audience read access.
3. Give the approved tester group the category access required to create topics and reply.
4. Review every additional group held by test accounts; grants can be additive.
5. Test guest, registered non-tester, approved tester and staff against category and direct topic URLs.
6. After removing a test participant repeat the posting checks without deleting category content.

Check the result

The intended registered non-tester reads but cannot post/reply; the tester can participate. Existing core ACLs remain the authority.

If it does not work

An administrator session cannot prove an ordinary member restriction. The addon’s adoption preserves the configured ACL rather than silently rewriting every existing grant.
