Back up and restore the supported base settings

Where: Tools → Base settings backup

Steps

  1. Export the fourteen allowlisted base settings and retain the current values separately.
  2. Upload valid JSON no larger than 32 KiB.
  3. Inspect the read-only diff before confirming.
  4. If restoring Enforce, use the additional explicit acknowledgement after checking rules/counters.
  5. Complete the ten-minute one-use review and reload the actual settings.

Check the result

This is not a full configuration/forum backup: provider/Redis secrets, destinations, network policies, language, rules and records are excluded. Retention changes affect the next cleanup.

If it does not work

Changed current values or another preview requires a new review. Transaction failure must not be treated as partial acceptance. Keep the full database/files backup for disaster recovery.
