How to create and manage polls

Create a category poll

Enter the intended category or subcategory and choose Create poll near its heading. The normal topic composer already knows that category. Enter the question/title, body and options, choose settings, then Publish poll. Normal posting trust, CAPTCHA and moderation rules still apply.

Choose the ballot

Use single-choice, multiple-choice with minimum/maximum picks, a 2–10 rating scale, or ranked voting with instant-runoff counting.

Allow vote changes

Each account has one ballot. Allowing changes replaces its earlier ballot; it does not create extra independent votes.

Allow guests

An administrator must enable guest voting globally and the creator must allow it on the poll. It is off by default. Guest recognition uses browser cookies; clearing cookies or changing browsers can allow another vote.

Schedule and results

Set opening/closing times in UTC. Choose results visibility: always, after voting, after closing, or staff only.

Find standalone polls

Use the Resources sidebar’s Pollooza link (addon-page.php?addon=pollooza); management uses view=manage. Legacy standalone polls are public and should not be treated as private-category content.
