Upload and crop your avatar or cover

Where: Account menu → Settings → Avatar / Cover image

Before you start

Supported profile picture formats are PNG, JPEG, WebP and GIF, up to 4 MB. Avatar cropping needs JavaScript; a disabled script leaves the ordinary form without the cropping interface. Wide images work best for covers.

Step by step

  1. Choose an avatar image and drag it to frame the crop; adjust Zoom.
  2. Save avatar and reload your profile/topic byline.
  3. Choose a wide cover image and Save cover; use profile repositioning where offered.
  4. Use Remove avatar/Remove cover only when intentionally clearing it.

Reload and confirm the saved result using the same account. For private or paid content, also check the intended audience without sharing your session.

Common questions and troubleshooting

Crop unavailable: enable scripts or ask staff for assistance. Image refused: compare actual format and size, not just extension. Old image: refresh caches before uploading repeatedly.
