Create albums and choose who can see media

Where: Media gallery → albums/upload

Steps

1. Enable member albums if members should organise their own media.
2. Create an album and choose Public, Members or Private.
3. Choose each item’s privacy deliberately and check its album context.
4. Use a guest, another member and the owner to test direct album/item links.
5. Check approval state separately from privacy.

Check the result

Public content is guest-readable; Members requires sign-in; Private is owner/staff visibility. Hiding an item in navigation alone is not privacy.

If it does not work

Do not assume a private upload is safe because its thumbnail disappeared. Test its direct route and actual file delivery on your installation before storing sensitive material.
