Create a poll topic in the current category

Where: Inside the intended forum category or subcategory → Create poll

Steps

1. Sign in with an account allowed to start a topic in that category.
2. Open the category itself, then choose Create poll.
3. Fill the normal topic fields and the poll fields; the category is inherited.
4. Choose the poll method, answer options, results policy and closing schedule before submitting.
5. Submit once and follow any normal moderation notice.
6. Open the resulting topic as an eligible member and cast a test ballot on a disposable poll.

Check the result

The poll is attached to the topic in that category, without asking you to select another destination. Normal category, trust, CAPTCHA and review restrictions still apply.

If it does not work

If the button is missing check addon enablement, supported core hooks and new-topic permission. A pending/locked topic cannot be used to evade posting rules.
