Start, reply to and leave private conversations

Where: Account navigation → Messages → New conversation

Before you start

Conversations are distinct from public topic replies and mentions. Choose recipients carefully before sending private information. Account, screened-IP and content-policy restrictions can still refuse messages.

Step by step

  1. Enter one or more intended recipients in To.
  2. Write Subject and Message and Send message.
  3. Open the conversation to read replies and Send reply.
  4. Use Leave conversation when you no longer want to participate.

Check the result

Reload and confirm the saved result using the same account. For private or paid content, also check the intended audience without sharing your session.

Common questions and troubleshooting

Recipient unavailable/send refused: check the actual message and ask staff to inspect account restrictions. No public reply: private messages do not post into a forum thread.
