Follow topics and control notifications
Where: Topic → Following; account navigation → Watching / Notifications
Before you start
Following produces reply notifications; bookmarks do not. Unfollowing does not delete the topic. Account-level notifications-off is an administrator-managed exception for bot/shared accounts. Email digests have their own opt-in and delivery schedule.
Step by step
- Use the topic’s Following control to subscribe.
- Open Topics you follow to review tracked threads and their offered notification choices.
- Save any tracking changes or Stop following.
- Open Notifications for replies/mentions/activity you are eligible to receive.

Check the result
Reload and confirm the saved result using the same account. For private or paid content, also check the intended audience without sharing your session.
Common questions and troubleshooting
Notification absent: verify you followed the thread, the action produced an eligible notification, and your account is not configured to suppress them.
