Before you start

JSON preserves table rows/IDs but is not every uploaded file. Without emptying tables, matching IDs update and other rows remain; with it, missing rows are discarded. Keep config secrets, private files and backup paths protected.

Step by step

1. Take a full verified file/database backup and a JSON board export if you need that transfer format.
2. Prepare the destination with the matching release and PHP/database requirements.
3. Transfer actual files privately; import the Forovanta JSON through the board-export import form, not the other-platform JSON form.
4. Choose whether to empty each table before importing only after reading its data-loss effect.
5. Update host/database/site address settings through the supported setup process and test private/public access before switching traffic.

Test a real avatar, attachment, paid/free file, sign-in, private conversation, group access and outgoing mail on the destination.

Common questions and troubleshooting

Media absent: transfer the file bytes too. Mixed old/new content: inspect merge-versus-empty choice; restore staging from the backup before another attempt.
