Do I need the XML and addon?

For a fresh theme, yes. XML supplies the style; the editor addon supplies its dedicated settings/runtime corrections.

Do I reimport XML to upgrade from an older companion?

Normally no. Upgrade the same-key companion, enable it, Save PurpleZ once and hard-refresh. Preserve your customised theme row.

Why did another style’s footer logo change?

The actual footer logo/size are shared core settings, not theme-specific values.

Can I put an image in the above-footer CTA?

The supplied region is deliberately text-only. Use the separate hero/background or actual footer logo controls for their intended regions.

Will an empty upload field remove my image?

No. It retains the current image. Explicit Remove removes it, unless a new upload is also supplied, which takes priority.
