Upgrade without losing theme customisations

Where: Admin → Add-ons → Absolute Plus Settings

Steps

  1. Back up/export the installed theme and retain the previous companion ZIP.
  2. Upgrade the existing same-key companion through Add-ons.
  3. Keep the existing theme XML when you intend to preserve its customised regions/CSS/colours.
  4. Confirm the companion is enabled; open its settings and press Save Absolute Plus once.
  5. Hard-refresh the forum and check hero, footer, menus and the actual selected style.

Check the result

The companion edits the existing theme in place. Reimporting a stock XML can overwrite customisations and is unnecessary for the documented companion-only upgrade.

If it does not work

If a new XML was already imported over customised content, restore the prior theme export. Restoring only the companion does not recreate lost theme edits.
