Publish the forum’s built-in knowledge base
Where: Admin → Content → Pages & docs → Knowledge Base
Before you start
This is Forovanta’s own KB, separate from this Grav documentation site. Articles require a category. Drafts are readable by staff only; published articles follow the built-in KB’s audience rules.
Step by step
- Create a knowledge-base category and set its presentation/position.
- Create an article, choose that category and write its title, address, short summary and body.
- Choose the status. Keep it draft while reviewing; publish when ready.
- Choose Feature first in its category and Position if needed, then save.
- Open the public knowledge base and test the article as a guest.
Settings and behaviour
This is Forovanta’s own KB, separate from this Grav documentation site. Articles require a category. Drafts are readable by staff only; published articles follow the built-in KB’s audience rules.
A custom address is used at ?page=kb&slug=...; a short summary helps the index explain what the article answers. Featured pushes an article ahead within its category. Category artwork uses the offered upload control. Keep article titles task-based, such as “Reset your password”, rather than “Information”.
Check the result
Confirm a draft is unavailable to an ordinary reader and the published copy appears in its category.
Common questions and troubleshooting
No article form/category: create a category first. Whole KB gives 404: check System → Features. Still draft: staff visibility is not proof of publication.
