Arrange header/footer menus and footer branding
Where: Admin → System → Appearance → Menus
Before you start
Header sections are real headings, not fake destination links. Switching a link off preserves it while hiding it. With no stored header links the board falls back to its default navigation.
Step by step
- Add a header link or Add section to create a dropdown heading.
- Set each link’s label, destination, enabled state, audience and New tab choice.
- Drag to reorder; drop onto the middle of another link to make a submenu. Use ⇤ to lift a child back out.
- Arrange footer links into titled sections/columns.
- Upload a footer logo, set its height/about text and Upgrade link choice, then Save menus.
Settings and behaviour
Header sections are real headings, not fake destination links. Switching a link off preserves it while hiding it. With no stored header links the board falls back to its default navigation.
An empty footer logo/about uses the header logo and tagline. Allowed HTML in About is filtered on save. Generated addon links retain their package label/URL; the menu stores their position. Reset to defaults and Restore previous footer have broader effects than deleting one row—back up your menu layout first.
Check the result
Open desktop/mobile header and footer as guest/member. Test new-tab targets and hidden-audience links.
Common questions and troubleshooting
Link absent: check enabled/audience and whether its feature/addon is off. Addon link text reverts: package-generated labels belong to the addon. Footer logo differs from header: inspect its explicit override.
