Change cookie preferences and share a public page
Where: Footer → Cookie settings; content sharing controls
Before you start
Changing consent does not sign you out; necessary session behaviour remains. Consent is a stored choice, not proof that arbitrary third-party custom code obeys it. Instagram lacks a normal URL share endpoint, so its control copies the link instead.
Steps
- Use Cookie settings to reopen the consent notice.
- Choose the offered accept-all, essential-only or reject-optional preference.
- To share, open the intended public topic/article/resource and use its share/copy control.
- For a private page, verify the intended recipient can read it before sending its link.
Verify
The consent notice remembers the choice and can be reopened. Shared URLs point to the intended public content.
Troubleshooting
A share link cannot grant private access. If a custom tracking snippet ignores the preference, ask the owner to gate that snippet correctly rather than claiming the notice blocks every script automatically.
