Build custom pages with widgets
Where: Admin → Content → Pages & docs → Custom pages
Before you start
A custom page is an ordered set of widgets. Existing pre-builder page content is represented as one Rich text widget, so it can be moved or edited without recreating the page.
Step by step
- Choose New page, enter a title and Create page.
- Open Page settings. Set its address, description, Published state, navigation/footer links, sidebar scope, reader visibility and position; Save page.
- Find a widget in Available Widgets and add it to the page. Edit the widget’s content and Save widget.
- Use Up/Down or the available arrangement controls to place widgets, then finish editing.
- Open the public address and inspect it in a non-staff session.
Settings and behaviour
A custom page is an ordered set of widgets. Existing pre-builder page content is represented as one Rich text widget, so it can be moved or edited without recreating the page.
The address uses ?page=p&slug=your-address. Published controls publication; Who may read it controls audience. “Link it in navigation/footer” controls discovery and is not a substitute for reader visibility. Sidebar scope chooses the surrounding page layout. Duplicate creates a starting copy; review its address and visibility before publishing. Delete removes the page, so export/back up important text first.
Check the result
Check the saved address, audience and menu/footer links. A private page should not become readable simply because somebody knows its address.
Common questions and troubleshooting
Page missing: check Published, visibility and slug. Widget absent: make sure Save widget completed. Old text appears: inspect the existing Rich text widget rather than adding a second copy.
