Repair imported bodies, passwords and groups
Where: Admin → Migration → the original run
Before you start
Body repair compares with the originally imported content and leaves member-edited posts alone. Its rollback restores saved bodies from the chosen repair backup. Password repair of old unmarked imports can replace a reset password for an account that never signed in; read the warning. Group cleanup merges only import-stamped duplicates and preserves manually created/moderating groups.
Step by step
- Reconnect that run to its original source if required.
- For missing bytes use Repair / resume and review paths/failure samples.
- For unchanged imported bodies use Repair post formatting & images; keep its private JSON backup.
- Review the password-repair warning before running it; prefer member password reset when ownership/history is uncertain.
- Use Audit & clean imported groups for duplicates stamped by that import; review the report afterward.

Check the result
Reopen sampled repaired posts and inline pictures, test affected access groups and compare before/after report counts.
Common questions and troubleshooting
Edited post skipped: intentional protection. Repair still missing files: retain samples and find the actual source storage; do not rerun a whole migration hoping to manufacture missing bytes.
