Before you start
You need site-wide topic capability, category Full access and any trust/reply prerequisite. Bug-report categories can require the dedicated bug form instead. Publishing may queue approval rather than immediately exposing the topic.
Step by step
- Choose an allowed category in the composer.
- Choose an offered prefix/suffix and tags where applicable.
- Write a descriptive Title and the message in the editor.
- Complete any verification and Publish topic, or Save draft to finish later.

Reload and confirm the saved result using the same account. For private or paid content, also check the intended audience without sharing your session.
Common questions and troubleshooting
No permitted forum: ask staff to review category/group access. Held for review: check the notice; do not repeatedly post duplicates. Label absent: it may be scoped to another category.
